A healthy family system and home environment is at the heart of the optimal development of every child. Therefore, our Social Service Interventions are central to every Tshepong Program in order to give support and encouragement to families, while ensuring that their basic needs are met. Through hands-on relationships we hope to support our community in their efforts to break their cycle of poverty, and turn it into a cycle of Hope, Life and Vision for the future.

Social Services include:

  • Individual and Family support and interventions - Home visits, mediation & counselling.
  • Provision of optimal service delivery through advocacy.
  • Building partnerships and liaising with local institutions such as Home Affairs, Clinics, Schools, etc. This is done for successful referrals and the establishment of proper prevention plans to assist families.
  • Needs assessments are done to ensure that the basic needs of a family is met while creating self-reliance in the process.
  • Group work sessions are planned to address relevant issues and provide tools to train and uplift the individual, family and community.

Program Outcomes:

  • Awareness is created. This allows for greater impact through interventions as they are guided by current and relevant needs within the community.
  • The accessibility of the social worker creates a trusting relationship with the community and opportunity for input.
  • More families and children are assisted with proper South African documentation.
  • Healthy family systems are established
  • Basic needs are accurately and sustainably met.
