OUR HISTORY

True to its name it has long since remained a PLACE OF HOPE focussed on uplifting the lives of infants, children and youth in our rural community as seen through our Sprouts, Early Childhood Development (ECD), and Child- and Youth Development Programs.

Many new and sustainable interventions have been undertaken since 2006, and as we partner with the community and stakeholders we can create great change in the lives of children and families that need it most.

"It is in your hands to create a BETTER WORLD for all those who live in it"

OUR PARTNERS

Our community's "buy-in" is of GREAT importance in the successful implementation of every program at Tshepong.

Positive and trusting relationships with our community and its families cause effective mentorship and better attendance. This is uplifting, and positive change within our community is seen to be the outcome.

We do not believe in hand- outs. We believe in participation, encouragement and hard-work. It is only then that sustainable change is the result.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT SCHOOL

NALETSANA COMBINED SCHOOL and Leeupoort Primary School.

In partnering with our local government school, we are able to play our part in the educational development of our children, while also being involved in their daily routine.

Our involvement at the school also gives an indication as to the impact of a child's home environment on their schooling and other important developmental and social aspects, such as peer pressure, bullying and social norms that are acceptable.

In looking at different spheres of a child's life we are able to intervene holistically, and we are thankful for partners that also have the child's best interest at heart.

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT (DSD)

The Department of Social Development started their partnership with Tshepong in 2008. Since then the Drop-in-Centre program has been registered, and has become the recipient of much-needed funding to uplift the children and youth in our community. This allows us to render effective social services, as proper support is given to the organisation.

Governance is also provided to ensure that all projects we undertake adhere to the proper norms and standards set out by the Department.

DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (DOE)

Our ECD Centre is registered with the Department of Education from 2022.

This newly established partnership is of priceless value as our educators are appropriately supported and trained on the education and development of children in their early years..

Financial support is also made available for our ECD centre which helps us provide for the basic needs at the school and to ensure even greater overall program implementation.

DONOR SUPPORT

As a rural-based organisation, we want to invest our time and efforts into building lasting donor relationships to ensure the sustainability of our respective programs. We also place a high value on accountability and communication. In this way our partners are able to see the impact that their involvement and support has made over time.

If not for our donors we would not have come this far! The growth and development of Tshepong Children's Project is thanks to individuals, companies, institutions and other organisations giving us the opportunity to create positive change as we work together.

We would like to say a special thank you to Solon Foundation as our main donor partner, instrumental in the establishment of Tshepong Children's Project. Their ongoing guidance and support is priceless, and in partnership with Letlapa Pula Game Farm we would not have been able to achieve so much.

Thank you!!!
